Placentia

Placentia has been home to many agricultural families and in 1865 attracted early settlers. In 1910, A.S. Bradford had the Santa Fe Railroad direct a line through the city to accommodate the city’s citrus industry. It was then a small community active with Valencia Orange orchards, a packing house and a rail station.
In 1971, it was named an “All American City”, a distinction given by the National Civic League where annually only 10 U.S. cities are given the award for their excellence in constructive citizenship.

Currently the city has multiple projects and among them the city is revitalizing Placentia’s old town district by restoring historic elements, creating pedestrian-friendly areas, drawing in new and unique businesses, and a new luxury apartment complex that will be conveniently located across the street from a new Metrolink Station.

The city’s median home value is higher than national averages, yet it does not rank amongst the most expensive median values in California. The convenient location places Placentia within a short driving distance to several iconic attractions.

Overall, the residents tend to agree that the city lives up to its motto of being a “pleasant place to live”.
